County Road N-65 (D Ave) and the bridge over the Raccoon River near Hyde Park in Kendrick Township will be open before harvest, but County Road E-57 (290th St) and the bridge over Greenbrier Creek just east of K Ave in Greenbrier Township will be closed.
County engineer Wade Weiss said the bridge is “basically done” near Hyde Park, but the approaches still need to be paved. He expects the bridge to be open by Sept. 1.
He also reported to the county supervisors Monday that the bid letting has been done for fall construction on the E-57 bridge. The low bidder was Iowa Bridge and Culvert LC of Washington, IA, with a bid of $574,544. The estimate was $558,000.
The project is scheduled to start yet this fall and be completed before winter.
